Hytale's $15,000 Gobliterator Bounty: Simon's Exact Conditions, Why It Is Not News From This Week, and Why Nobody Can Claim It Yet
Per nomeCategoria::minuti leggere
Hytale co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme posted a $15,000 offer on 24 September 2026, quote-tweeting Hytale's Chapter I release-date announcement: the money goes to the first streamer who kills the Gobliterator boss in hard mode, no armor, no potion, no glitch, in hardcore mode, with iron weapons available in Exploration Mode allowed, and the run must be streamed so the team can watch the VOD. A reply ten minutes later added the only clarification he has given: a full legit run in solo, no creative-mode entry. This is a catch-up piece, not a story that broke this week, and the distinction matters because the bounty only becomes claimable when Chapter 1 ships on 12 October. The Gobliterator is not in any publicly playable build, the string does not appear once on the Update 7 patch notes page, and nothing about the offer appears on hytale.com. There is also no deadline, no sign-up, no rules document and no tiebreak, because those two posts are the whole of it. We go through each condition in the order he wrote it, correct two things other coverage got wrong, including the word "player" where he said "streamer", and explain what still has to happen before anyone can try.
There is $15,000 on the table for the first streamer who kills the Gobliterator boss in hard mode, no armor, no potion, no glitch, in hardcore mode. The offer comes from Simon Collins-Laflamme, a Hytale co-founder, posting as @Simon_Hypixel. He made it on 24 September 2026 as a quote tweet of Hytale's Chapter I release-date announcement, and he has added exactly one clarification since. Nobody has claimed the money. Nobody can claim it yet, for a reason we go into below: the Gobliterator is not in any build the public can play.
Here is the post in full, exactly as he wrote it:
I'll donate $15,000 to the first streamer who kills the Gobliterator boss in hard mode, no armor, no potion, no glitch, in hardcore mode (you can use iron weapons available in Exploration Mode). It must be streamed so we can watch the VOD; don't cheat, bro.
Ten minutes later, at 19:16 UTC, he replied to his own thread with the only clarification he has given:
It must be a full legit run in solo; you can't just creative-mode your way in there!
It will be interesting to see strategies: risk time in practice, or just go straight for the kill? hmm
That is the entire public record of this bounty. Two posts, ten minutes apart, on 24 September. Everything else written about it, including this article, is reading those two posts.
This Is Not News From This Week
We are writing this on 7 October 2026, and the posts are dated 24 September 2026. This is a catch-up piece, not a story that broke this week, and we would rather say that at the top than let a publication date imply otherwise.
The reason to run it now is timing rather than novelty. Chapter 1 ships on 12 October 2026, five days from now. The bounty was posted as a quote tweet of that release-date announcement, and it is the arrival of Chapter 1 that turns the offer from a thing you cannot act on into a thing somebody might be able to attempt. If you are a streamer who wants to be first, the useful week to understand the conditions is this one, not the week the post went up.
So: nothing below is new information. What is new is that the gap between the offer and the earliest possible attempt is now measured in days.
Nobody Has Claimed It, and Nobody Can Yet
This is the single most important thing to understand about the bounty, and it is the thing most likely to be glossed over.
The Gobliterator is not present in any publicly playable Hytale build. The playable line currently ends at the Update 7 Part 5 pre-release, which landed on 1 October 2026. We checked the Update 7 living patch notes page again today, all 368,657 bytes of it, and the string "Gobliterator" occurs zero times. Not once, across every part of the cycle published so far. We established the same thing in our earlier piece on the Gobliterator hard mode boss not appearing in a pre-release build, and nothing has changed since.
There is also no further pre-release coming before launch. Our reporting on that said there is no pre-release on 8 October, which makes the 1 October build the last one anybody outside the studio gets to touch before Chapter 1. If the boss is not in that build, and it is not, then there is no public build in which a qualifying run could even be started.
The practical consequence: every condition in the list below is currently theoretical. No VOD exists. No claim has been made. No winner has been named. Any post or video telling you somebody has won $15,000 for killing the Gobliterator is describing something that could not have happened in a public build.
There Are No Rules Beyond Those Two Posts
Treat this as the second load-bearing caveat. A $15,000 figure attached to a boss kill reads like a competition, and it is not structured like one.
From the two posts, here is what does not exist:
No deadline. He never says when the offer opens, when it closes, or whether it expires if nobody manages it.
No registration or entry process. There is no form, no sign-up, no email address, no Discord channel, no hashtag you are told to use.
No verification rules beyond the VOD. The whole of the verification requirement is "It must be streamed so we can watch the VOD". There is no stated minimum stream length, no requirement to record inputs, no overlay requirement, no stated platform, no rule about editing, and no named adjudicator.
No tiebreak. The money goes to "the first streamer". If two people finish within minutes of each other, nothing he has posted says how that is resolved.
No payment terms. Nothing about when or how the $15,000 would be paid, in what currency mechanism, or what happens if a claimant is in a jurisdiction that complicates it.
No appeals process. "Don't cheat, bro" is the closest thing to an enforcement clause in the entire offer.
None of that makes the offer less real. It makes it an offer from one person on his personal account, not a contest with terms and conditions. If you see an article describing eligibility criteria, submission windows or judging panels, those came from somewhere other than Simon.
"I'll Donate" Is Not "Hypixel Studios Is Offering a Prize"
His verb is "I'll donate", first person, on his personal account. He does not say whose money it is, he does not describe it as a studio prize, and he does not attach any company to it. We are not going to tell you it is his own money, because he does not say that either. All we can report is the wording: a Hytale co-founder, posting personally, wrote "I'll donate $15,000".
This matters because the two framings carry different weight. A studio-run prize implies a funded prize pool, a legal entity behind it, and a process. A personal post from a co-founder implies a personal commitment. The first would be a different story. The post we have is the second, and the difference is worth keeping in mind before anybody builds a stream schedule around it.
He Said "Streamer", Not "Player"
Some coverage of this bounty wrote "player". He wrote "streamer", and the distinction is not cosmetic: streaming is a condition of eligibility, not a suggested way to prove the run.
Read the two clauses together. The reward goes to "the first streamer who kills the Gobliterator boss", and separately, "It must be streamed so we can watch the VOD." Both halves point the same way. A perfect run captured in a local recording and uploaded afterwards does not obviously satisfy a condition that says it must be streamed, and we are not going to tell you it does, because he has not said so. If you want to attempt this, stream it live and keep the VOD.
The other wording correction is smaller and also worth making: "naked" is not his word. He said "no armor". Those are not identical conditions. "No armor" is a specific restriction on one equipment category. "Naked" is a community shorthand that implies more than he asked for, and if you are planning a run you should plan against his wording rather than against the shorthand.
Nothing About the Bounty Appears on hytale.com
We looked. There is nothing about the $15,000 offer anywhere on hytale.com. It is not on the news index, it is not in the Chapter 1 announcement material, and it is not in the Update 7 patch notes page, where as noted the word "Gobliterator" does not appear at all. The site itself has not been rebuilt since 1 October 2026.
That is consistent with the offer being a personal post rather than a studio programme, and it is the reason this article leans so heavily on quoting the two posts directly. They are the primary source because they are the only source.
The Conditions, in the Order He Wrote Them
His sentence packs seven conditions into one breath, and the reply adds an eighth. Here they are in his order, without re-ordering or rounding, with what each one appears to mean and what it leaves open.
1. Hard mode. The kill has to be on the Gobliterator in hard mode specifically. He does not describe what hard mode changes about the encounter, and we are not going to invent that.
2. No armor. One equipment category, excluded. Nothing is said about trinkets, consumable food, runestones or anything else that is not armor and is not a potion.
3. No potion. Note the singular, "no potion", which is how he wrote it. Read plainly it rules out potion use for the run.
4. No glitch. No definition is offered, and this is the condition with the widest interpretive gap. In a bounty with a single adjudication clause of "so we can watch the VOD", whether a given movement or damage trick counts as a glitch is a judgement call that nothing in writing resolves.
5. In hardcore mode. This is the condition that makes the whole thing hard rather than merely restrictive, because it removes the loop of attempt, die, retry on the same character. If hardcore mode is new to you, our hardcore mode guide covers how to turn it on, and we wrote about hardcore mode arriving in the Update 6 Part 9 pre-release when it first appeared.
6. Iron weapons available in Exploration Mode are permitted. The one permission in the list, given in parentheses: "(you can use iron weapons available in Exploration Mode)". It is a carve-out, not a restriction, and it is phrased as an allowance rather than a requirement, so it does not say you must use iron weapons.
7. It must be streamed so the team can watch the VOD. The eligibility and verification condition in one clause.
8. Solo, a full legit run, no creative-mode entry. This condition comes from the 19:16 reply, not the headline post. His words: "It must be a full legit run in solo; you can't just creative-mode your way in there!" Attribute it to the reply if you quote it.
Two observations about the list as a whole, and both are our reading rather than his statement. First, the restrictions are almost entirely about the character rather than about the run: no armor, no potion, hardcore, solo. Second, the only explicit permission in the whole offer is a weapon allowance. The shape of the challenge is therefore a lightly equipped solo character with one life, which is a very different proposition from a group clearing a boss with full gear and consumables.
Why the Iron Weapon Clause Is the Interesting One
Every other clause takes something away. The parenthetical gives something back, and it is specific: "iron weapons available in Exploration Mode". He did not write "any iron weapon" and he did not write "iron tier". He tied the allowance to what Exploration Mode makes available.
Our reading, and only our reading: that phrasing suggests he is drawing the line at what a player can reasonably obtain in a normal exploration run, rather than at a damage number. It is also the only place in the offer where he pre-empts a question, which implies he expected the weapon question to be the first one asked. He did not pre-empt the glitch question, the trinket question or the food question, so those remain open.
If you want context on how weapon tiers compare to each other in combat, our weapon tier list and combat guide is the reference, with the obvious caveat that it is written for player versus player combat and the bounty is a boss kill.
The Strategy Question He Asked Himself
The second half of his reply is not a rule, it is him thinking out loud, and it happens to be the most interesting line in either post:
It will be interesting to see strategies: risk time in practice, or just go straight for the kill? hmm
He is describing the actual tension in the bounty. The reward is for being first, so every hour spent learning the fight is an hour somebody else might be using to attempt it. But the run is hardcore and solo with no armor and no potion, so an unpracticed attempt is an attempt you probably lose. Practice costs you the race; skipping practice costs you the run.
Worth noting what this line does not do: it does not create a practice exemption. He does not say practice runs may be done in creative mode, or on a non-hardcore character, or off stream. The only thing the reply establishes as a rule is the first sentence, about solo and creative mode. The second sentence is commentary.
What Would Have to Be True Before Anyone Could Try
Collecting the above into a plain sequence. None of this is from Simon. It is our summary of what the conditions require against what currently exists.
The Gobliterator has to exist in a build the public can play. It does not today. The word does not appear once in the Update 7 patch notes page.
Hard mode has to be reachable in that build. The offer specifies hard mode, so a kill in any other difficulty does not satisfy condition one.
Hardcore mode has to be available alongside it. Conditions one and five have to be satisfiable at the same time on the same character.
The run has to be streamed live, with the VOD kept. That is the only verification mechanism named.
Somebody has to be first. With no deadline and no registration, "first" is decided by timestamps on public streams, and nothing written says who arbitrates that.
Step one is the blocker, and it does not clear until Chapter 1 arrives. For what Chapter 1 is expected to bring, our first look at Chapter 1, covering goblins, runes and worldgen is the overview, and the runes system explainer covers the Ability and Modifier split that any serious boss attempt will have to reckon with.
If You Are Planning an Attempt
Practical notes, all of them ours rather than his, and all of them about reducing the chance that a successful run gets argued over afterwards.
Stream it, do not just record it. The condition is that it must be streamed. Keep the VOD available and unedited.
Show the mode. Nothing requires you to, but the offer names hard mode and hardcore mode as separate conditions, and a VOD that visibly establishes both is harder to dispute than one that does not.
Keep the run continuous on stream. "A full legit run in solo" is his phrase. The fewer gaps in the VOD, the less there is to explain.
Assume the no-glitch clause is read strictly. There is no definition and no appeals process, so the conservative reading is the safe one.
Do not count on the money. There is no contract here, no registration, no deadline and no stated payment process. This is a personal post on X. Treat a potential $15,000 as a bonus on a run you wanted to do anyway, not as a budget line.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Hytale Gobliterator bounty?
On 24 September 2026, Hytale co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme (@Simon_Hypixel) posted: "I'll donate $15,000 to the first streamer who kills the Gobliterator boss in hard mode, no armor, no potion, no glitch, in hardcore mode (you can use iron weapons available in Exploration Mode). It must be streamed so we can watch the VOD; don't cheat, bro." It was a quote tweet of Hytale's Chapter I release-date announcement.
Has anyone won the $15,000 Hytale challenge?
No. Nobody has claimed it, and it cannot currently be claimed. The Gobliterator does not appear in any publicly playable build, and the string "Gobliterator" occurs zero times on the Update 7 living patch notes page, which we re-checked today.
What are the exact rules of the Gobliterator $15,000 challenge?
From the headline post: hard mode, no armor, no potion, no glitch, in hardcore mode, with iron weapons available in Exploration Mode permitted, and it must be streamed so the team can watch the VOD. From his reply ten minutes later: it must be a full legit run in solo, and you cannot creative-mode your way in. There is nothing else. No deadline, no registration, no verification rules beyond the VOD, and no tiebreak.
Do you have to be a streamer to claim the Hytale Gobliterator bounty?
He wrote "the first streamer", and separately "It must be streamed so we can watch the VOD". Streaming is a condition of eligibility as he worded it. Some coverage wrote "player"; that is not what the post says.
Does the Gobliterator bounty require a naked run?
"Naked" is not his word. He said "no armor". He also said no potion and no glitch. Nothing in either post rules out anything beyond those categories, so plan against his wording rather than the shorthand.
Can you use weapons in the Gobliterator hard mode challenge?
Yes, within a limit he states in parentheses: "you can use iron weapons available in Exploration Mode". It is the only explicit permission in the offer, and it is phrased as an allowance rather than a requirement.
Is the $15,000 coming from Hytale or Hypixel Studios?
He wrote "I'll donate", first person, on his personal account. He never says whose money it is, and no company is named in either post. Nothing about the bounty appears on hytale.com. We are not going to characterise it beyond his own wording.
Is there a deadline for the Hytale Gobliterator bounty?
None has been posted. There is no stated start date, end date or expiry, and no registration step. The only time-related element is that the reward goes to whoever is first.
When will the Gobliterator be playable?
We cannot give you a date for the boss specifically. What we can say is that it is not in the 1 October Update 7 Part 5 pre-release, that there is no further pre-release before launch, and that Chapter 1 ships on 12 October 2026.
Has Simon said anything else about the bounty?
Two posts, both on 24 September 2026: the offer at 19:06 UTC and the clarification at 19:16 UTC. That is the complete public record as far as we can find.
The Bottom Line
The offer is real and the wording is unusually specific for something posted in a single sentence: $15,000, first streamer, hard mode, no armor, no potion, no glitch, hardcore mode, iron weapons available in Exploration Mode permitted, streamed with a watchable VOD, and per the follow-up reply, a full legit solo run with no creative-mode entry.
Everything around that wording is unstructured. There is no deadline, no sign-up, no rules page, no tiebreak, no stated payment process and no named adjudicator. There is also, as of today, no way to attempt it, because the Gobliterator is not in any public build and the word does not appear once in the Update 7 patch notes. Nothing about the bounty is on hytale.com.
What changes that is Chapter 1 on 12 October. If you are a streamer with an interest in being first, the thing to do with the next five days is read his two posts rather than anyone's summary of them, decide where you stand on the undefined no-glitch clause, and go in planning to stream continuously. The money is a personal commitment from a co-founder on his own account, not a funded competition, and it should be treated as exactly that.
