Hytale Update 6 Scorecard: What Shipped vs What Was Promised

Op:naam Categorie: naam :minuten min lezen

On July 16, 2026, Game Director Simon published a shipping timeline that placed Spectator and Hardcore, moving platforms and the Mod Browser "2-3 weeks" out for Update 6. That window opens Thursday, July 30 and closes Thursday, August 6. With days to go, Update 6 still has not shipped to the stable channel. We checked every published pre-release note against that list: Hardcore and Spectator landed on July 23, moving platforms landed on July 17, cubic chunks work is spread across the whole series, transparency landed and was then reverted, and the Mod Browser has not appeared under that name in any published pre-release note.

Hytale Update 6 has not shipped to the stable channel. On July 16, 2026, Game Director Simon published a feature-by-feature shipping timeline that put Update 6's headline items "2-3 weeks" out — a window that opens Thursday, July 30 and closes Thursday, August 6. With days left on that clock, here is what has actually landed in pre-release and what has not. This is not a release-date guess. Simon named specific features and attached specific timeframes to each one, and every Update 6 pre-release note since then is public. So instead of speculating, we did the boring thing: we lined up the promises against the published notes and marked each one. One item on his Update 6 list — the Mod Browser — has not appeared under that name in any published pre-release note at all. The Hytale Update 6 Scorecard: Promised vs Shipped Simon's July 16 post grouped features by how far out they were. Three items were tagged "2-3 weeks (Update 6)". Cubic chunks were described separately as "already in pre-release schedule for Update 6". Here is where each of those stands as of today, July 28, checked against the rolling Update 6 pre-release patch notes page: Promised for Update 6StatusEvidence Spectator + HardcoreShipped to pre-releaseJuly 23 (Part 9) — "Want to take on a new challenge? Hardcore Mode is here!" Moving platformsShipped to pre-releaseJuly 17 (Part 8) — new behaviour for "moving walls or platforms" Cubic chunksIn pre-release, spread across partsJune 25 and July 9 fixes for block placement in cubic worlds Real transparencyLanded, then pulledJuly 24 — transparency rendering changes reverted Mod BrowserNot seen under that nameNo published pre-release note mentions it Two of the three headline "2-3 weeks" features are already testable. That is the single strongest signal we have that the window Simon described is real and roughly on track. What's in Update 6: The Features That Landed Hardcore Mode and Spectator Mode arrived in the July 23 pre-release (Part 9), announced in the notes with the line "Want to take on a new challenge? Hardcore Mode is here!" The same drop added the /spectate command, a redesigned documentation site, stamina tuning, biome colour blending, and a dirt-to-half-slab recipe. We covered that drop in full in our Update 6 Part 9 patch notes breakdown. Moving platforms landed a week earlier, on July 17 in Part 8. The notes describe the new behaviour directly: "Modders creating entities, such as moving walls or platforms, can use this new behavior to ferry around friends or trap trespassers!" That is exactly the feature Simon listed, shipped the day after he listed it. Details are in our Part 8 patch notes write-up, which also covers the Bastion Cape cosmetic. Cubic chunks were never a single-drop feature. Simon's post said the tech was "already in pre-release schedule for Update 6", and the notes bear that out as a slow grind of fixes rather than an announcement: June 25 fixed "random-tick block placement so it works in cubic worlds", and July 9 fixed "breaking and placing blocks in cubic worlds outside the old range." This is infrastructure work being folded in piece by piece, which is exactly what you want to see before a stable release. The One That Went Backwards: Real Transparency Simon's July 16 line on transparency was hedged from the start: "Real transparency: scheduled for Chapter 1 but might land the tech and content before." It did land early — and then it came back out. The July 24 hotfix note reads: "Reverted some changes to the rendering of transparent effects while we work out various performance/stability issues." That is not a broken promise; transparency was never promised for Update 6. But it is a useful reminder that "in pre-release" and "in the stable build" are different things. Features can and do get pulled back out during the pre-release window. The Missing One: Where Is the Hytale Mod Browser? Simon listed "Mod Browser: 2-3 weeks (Update 6)" in the same block as Spectator, Hardcore, and moving platforms. Both of the others have shipped to pre-release. The Hytale Mod Browser has not appeared under that name in any published pre-release note. Be careful with what that does and does not mean. This is a negative keyword-search result against the published notes, not a statement from the team. There are several ordinary explanations: It may ship in a later pre-release part before the window closes. It may already exist in the build under a different name, since the notes do not always use the same wording as Simon's roadmap posts. It may ship directly in the stable Update 6 build without a pre-release note. Pre-release notes are summaries, not exhaustive changelogs, and not every change gets a line. We are not claiming it has been cut or delayed. We are saying that if you are waiting on a mod browser, it is the one Update 6 promise with no public confirmation behind it yet, and it is worth watching the next drop for. Hytale Update 6 Part 10: Why Thursday, July 30 Matters The pre-release cadence is remarkably regular. Every numbered part has landed on a Thursday, with one slip to Friday: July 24 (Fri) — Part 9 hotfix, 0.6.0-pre.9.1, transparency revert July 23 (Thu) — Part 9: Hardcore, Spectator, /spectate July 17 (Fri) — Part 8: moving walls and platforms, Bastion Cape July 9 (Thu) — Part 7: cubic-world block fix July 2 (Thu) — Part 6 June 25 (Thu) — Part 5: cubic random-tick fix June 18 (Thu) — Part 4 June 11 (Thu) — Part 3: Scarak Immunities, new block sounds, ECS NPC migration June 4 (Thu) — Part 2: World-Gen V2 graph system, explosive blocks May 28 (Thu) — Part 1: block palette presets, hytale/3 protocol bump The last drop was Thursday, July 23. The next Thursday slot is July 30 — which, by our arithmetic on Simon's "2-3 weeks", is also day 14 of his window. That collision is the thing to watch. A Hytale Update 6 Part 10 landing on July 30 would tell you the pre-release track is still running; a stable build landing instead would mean the window closed early. To be explicit: no stable Update 6 release date has ever been officially announced. Every date in this article is our own arithmetic on Simon's stated ranges. On versions, the Hytale Wiki lists 0.6.0-pre.1 through 0.6.0-pre.9, plus the 0.6.0-pre.8.1 and 0.6.0-pre.9.1 hotfixes. There is no pre.10. The wiki still lists Update 6 as "(Upcoming)" with a release date of simply "2026". Does a July 30 to August 6 Window Fit Hytale's History? It fits well. The stable release history runs: Early Access launch on January 13, Update 1 on January 17, Update 2 on January 24, hotfixes on January 27, Update 3 on February 17, Update 4 on March 26, Update 5 on May 26, hotfixes on May 27, and most recently hotfixes for Update 5 (0.5.7) on July 22 — still the latest stable-channel release. The gap from Update 4 to Update 5 was roughly nine weeks. Update 5 shipped May 26 and the Update 6 pre-release track opened two days later on May 28. A landing between July 30 and August 6 puts the Update 5 to Update 6 gap at about nine to ten weeks — right in line with the previous cycle. For a fuller breakdown of the timing question itself, see our Hytale Update 6 release date guide. What to Watch This Week Three things will resolve in the next few days. Whether a Part 10 lands on Thursday, July 30. Whether the Mod Browser shows up in it. And whether the transparency work returns after that revert. Simon's other commitments from the same post sit further out anyway — the NoesisGUI-based server-side Custom UI at "within the next 1-2 months", carryable objects, minigames, machinima and Chapter 1 all at "within the next 2-3 months", and the crafting rework pushed to Chapter 2. You can read the full list in the official First Look: Chapter 1 and More post. Whenever Update 6 does go stable, the multiplayer scene moves fast — hardcore worlds, spectator-friendly events and moving-platform parkour builds will start appearing within days.
