Hytale Fishing Guide: Trap System, All Fish Species & Rarity Tiers

Fishing in Hytale doesn't work like most games. Instead of casting a line and waiting, you build and place fish traps in water, bait them, and check back later. The system rewards planning and exploration over patience. How Fish Traps Work Craft a Fish Trap at the Fishing Workbench (6 Sticks, 4 Linen Scraps) Place it in water at least 2 blocks deep Add bait by interacting with the placed trap Wait for a game-time period (varies by location and bait quality) Check the trap by interacting again to collect your catch Traps can catch multiple fish before needing new bait. Higher quality bait attracts rarer fish and fills the trap faster.
